PHYSICAL THERAPY
Massage
Massage is a therapeutic method that involves muscle manipulation and pressure to relax muscles, improve blood flow, and restore movement. Injuries and stress can cause muscles to contract, protecting the injured area, while also pressing on the surrounding nerves. This can cause pain, numbness or tingling. Massage therapy can help relieve these symptoms. We have a Certified Massage Therapist on staff. Call 586-563-3300 to request an appointment with our massage therapist.
Trigger Point Massage
Trigger point massage is used to treat tender spots within the muscles or fascia. This form of therapy can help soften and release these points, creating less strain on the muscle and reducing pain and tension in the trigger point area, which may also relieve problems in other parts of the body associated with the trigger point.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a soft tissue massage for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. The massage relaxes contracted muscles, improves blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries.
Reflexology
Reflexology is an alternative therapeutic treatment based on the idea that areas of the feet, hands, and ears are connected to other areas of the body. According to reflexology, pressure applied to the right reflex points can correct problems with correlating body parts.
Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu massage consists of finger and palm pressure, stretches, and other massage techniques. Shiatsu practitioners believe in a vital energy called qi that flows through the body, and that their manual manipulations can help to unblock it and so help the body heal itself.
Chair Massage
Chair massage is a style of seated massage that focuses on your back, shoulders and neck and arms. Chair massage is done over clothes and does not require any massage oil. We offer corporate chair massage for meetings and events.
