Knee Pain

Knee pain can be experienced by  both young athletes as well as the elderly. This type of pain can result from injury, mechanical problems, medical conditions or arthritis. Injury can impact the ligament, tendon, bone or bursa. The mechanical problems may be associated with a bone or cartilage restricting movement, when ligaments become too tight or when the patella dislocates or slips out of place. Arthritis of the knee, particularly gout, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis are common causes of knee pain.
